Tips on How to Use Wreck/Grapple Anchors

SECURING YOUR ANCHOR
If you’re fishing over an isolated patch of structure, surrounded by soft mud or sand, and the wind is relatively light, you
can drop the anchor upwind and slowly drift back until it catches onto the bottom terrain. This will ensure that your boat is
over the structure.
If you don’t get a bite within 10 minutes of anchoring, let your line out in 3 to 5-foot lengths to fish another area of the
structure. If the wind is blowing your boat, making it hard to hold bottom, drop a second anchor off the stern. This is
critical if you have found a school of fish over a very small part of the structure. Dropping a second anchor will also help to
prevent snags.
Note: This technique works best in water less than 40 feet
